History Center: presentation, Holiday Bazaar
Both will be at the society's Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St. Nov. 9 at 11 a.m., “The Pony Express.” Local historian Ken Valles “will tell the fascinating story of the short-lived Pony Express, then why the cattle drives started,” an OCCHS report states. Enlivening his program will be “TV and movie clips, photos of paintings, stamps, routes and historical markers and more,” a society write-up adds. The talk will be free to OCCHS members and $5 for others. Dec. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Holiday Bazaar and Open House. Free and open to the public, the event will feature live music by the Pikes Peak Jazz Ensemble (which will play from the balcony) and a craft fair on the main floor, plus refreshments.
