Capsulizing prominent Westside events through Christmas


A prominent Westside event Oct. 6 was the 38th annual Coronado High School Homecoming Parade down closed-off Colorado Avenue and into Bancroft Park. Above, following tradition, Boy Scout Troop 53 (based at Coronado High) leads off, followed closely by the Coronado band.

       Oct. 27 - Fall Festival. Seasonal family activities at the Westside Community Center. Free.
       Oct. 31 - Safe Treats. Trick-or-treating at the shops in Old Colorado City. Free.
       Nov. 10 - “Everything But the Oink!” Preparing for winter at the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Fee.
       Nov. 10 - Bear Run. 3K in a bear suit outside the Bear Creek Nature Center. Fee to participate.
       Nov. 23 - Black Friday Full Moon Hike at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. Fee.
       Nov. 24 - Christmas Stroll with street performers and first day of Santa in Old Colorado City. Free.
       Weekends from Nov. 24 to Dec. 23, plus Christmas Eve - Chances to see OCC's Santa. Fee if photo taken.
       Dec. 2 - Holiday Bazaar at Old Colorado City History Center. Live music and craft fair. Free.
       Dec. 7 - Bear Creek by Candlelight at Nature Center. Live music, lighted walks and Santa. Fee.
       Dec. 15 - Holiday Evening. Seasonal activities (including old-fashioned Santa) at Rock Ledge Ranch. Fee.
