In memoriam:
Bonnie Frum

Bonnie Frum, 70, the operations director at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center from 1997 to her retirement in 2012, passed away April 19.
A memorial was held April 29. The cause of death was endometrial cancer.
According to her obituary, Bonnie grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduating from Arizona College of the Bible in 1967, she moved to Colorado Springs.
In 1971 Bonnie married Buzz Frum. They had three children and raised two foster children.
She started with the Visitor & Nature Center in 1994, when it was still being run out of a remodeled private house off Juniper Way Loop. Bonnie helped transition the change to the current facility at 1805 N. 30th St.
In a “What Do You Do” column for the Westside Pioneer in 2007, Frum said of her job, “It has a lot of variety, I get to work with people all day long. What excites me most is the mission. We've given more than $1.2 million for the preservation of the park [an amount that continues to increase].”
