Silver Key asks for help in providing holiday meals for area elderly
“Many elderly citizens in Colorado Springs may not be able to afford the fixings for a special holiday meal on Thanksgiving or
Christmas,” reads a press release from Silver Key Senior Services.
As a result, the Westside-based non-profit agency for the elderly is requesting donations of food or sponsorship of complete holiday food baskets for seniors. Silver Key's goal is to feed 1,000 low-income elderly for the holidays. Volunteers are also requested to deliver the food baskets and gifts. The deadline for Thanksgiving food donations is Nov. 19; for Christmas food donations, the deadline is Dec. 15. Silver Key, a non-profit agency assisting about 17,000 area seniors, is located at 2250 Bott Ave. For more information, call 632-1521. Westside Pioneer Article |
