Westside schools:
‘Community engagement’ at CHS Nov. 9
Continuing a series of “community engagement meetings” throughout District 11 this school year, the Board of Education will come to Coronado High School, 1590
W. Fillmore St., Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The goal is “to exchange ideas with our internal and external communities,” a press release states. “The community is invited… Bring a friend or neighbor and your best ideas.” Other sessions in the 8-meeting series have been or will be at other district high schools or the D-11 administration building. For more information, call 520-2004 or go to d11.org. Bijou parent night The general public is invited to the Bijou School for a parent night Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. The agenda will include a representative from Peak Vista Community Health Center, a charity health-care nonprofit organization, explaining how to apply for Medicaid, according to Principal Kathryn Presnal. She said such know-how would be helpful because several of her students come from homes in which they “fail to receive proper medical care.” A dinner will be part of the parent-night activities, but reservations are necessary to Fae Bush at 328-7914.
