Westside Pioneer's November-January print edition now available
The press run was 11,500 for the 16-page paper. The main story addresses the trend to turn West Colorado Avenue into a two-lane road. The next issue, including the annual "Westside Stories of the Year," will come out in early January. The Pioneer, which was a weekly for its first 10 years, is nearing the end of its 13th year of operation. In keeping with a publishing plan established at the start of 2015, the staff prints every two months and updates the online site daily. The Pioneer defines the Westside as east of Manitou Springs, south of Garden of the Gods Road, west of I-25 and north of Cheyenne/Broadmoor. The print distribution outlets - mostly on the Westside - include King Soopers, Safeway, Albertson's, the Westside Community Center and a rack outside the Old Colorado City post office. If you would like a print edition mailed to you, the Pioneer will send it first-class (inside an envelope) anywhere in the U.S. for $3. To set up that service, call the Pioneer at 471-6776. Online, the Pioneer e-mails a weekly "blast" to let subscribers know about new articles. Currently, our e-mail list has more than 530 subscribers. There is no fee to join. To get on the list, e-mail Editor Kenyon Jordan at editor@westsidepioneer.com. That is also the best e-mail for news tips or questions. For ad info, Assistant Publisher Therese Jordan is at ap@westsidepioneer.com.
