Uintah pavement repairs (Mesa-23rd) on city schedule through Nov. 20

Pavement repairs, such as those on Uintah, are more extensive than pothole-filling because they cover sections of road lanes, according to a Nov. 7 interview with Michael Hensley, resurfacing program supervisor for City Public Works. He added that city crews will continue with repair-paving efforts throughout the city as long as the weather stays reasonably warm.
Hensley noted, however, that the city's curb-to-curb street paving efforts (also called "mainline paving") ends after this week (through Friday, Nov. 11) - with the notable exception of the separately contracted Centennial Boulevard reconstruction project south of Garden of the Gods Road.
Full paving there is scheduled to start in the latter half of November.
Here are all the Westside roadwork locations through Nov. 20:
- Colorado Avenue, from I-25 to 30th Street - cracksealing.
- Lower Gold Camp Road, from 21st Street to 26th Street - concrete.
- Uintah Street, from Mesa Road to 23rd Street - repair paving.
In general, note that there could be traffic impacts at any time in the work locations, including the temporary loss of a through lane or even a detour around the site.
Much of the concrete and paving upgrades this year have been accomplished by contractors under the city's 2C program. 2C was the name of the city-sponsored ballot measure that voters approved in last November's election. It established a .62 percent sales tax over a five-year span, dedicated to road improvements.
