2nd weekend for garden group’s cornhusk fundraiser

The Bear Creek Garden Association is holding its cornhusk fundraising effort over another weekend (Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25-26).        The offering of $5 a bundle from the non-profit group's 2-acre organic garden brought “a good response” last weekend, association president Char Nymann said, but some members “were still getting stalks out of the garden.”        The times will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.        The cornhusk sales are part of the fundraising to bring weed-eating goats back to the 19-acre area around the garden at Bear Creek Regional Park for which the association is responsible.        To get to the garden, take Creek Crossing (off Rio Grande Street just east of 21st Street).        For more information, call 473-5827.
