Hwy 24 Working Group meetings set
The Highway 24 Working Group plans to begin focusing on specific corridor segments at a series of meetings that will begin Wednesday, Oct. 18. The informal
group of elected, business and civic leaders began meeting last June to scrutinize the Westside Highway 24 expansion proposals by the Colorado Department of
Transportation (CDOT) and its consultants.
According to County Commissioner Sallie Clark, also a Westside resident and businesswoman, the goal is “to provide perspectives and help us come up with direction to CDOT from the Working Group, prior to their final decision on the preferred alternatives.” All meetings will be Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. The dates are: Oct. 18 at Gold Hill Substation, 955 W. Moreno St. (Ridge Road to Manitou Avenue). Nov. 1 (31st Street to Ridge Road and Fountain Creek issues). Nov. 15 (21st to 31st and Fountain Creek issues continued). Nov. 29 (8th to 21st). Dec. 13 ( I-25 to 8th Street and trails, transit and pedestrian issues). In addition, a subcommittee has formed to study roadway systems and traffic-modeling projections related to Highway 24, in conjunction with local government staff. All meetings are open to the public. For more information, call 471-4023. From a press release |
