Meet a Westsider:
Bobbie Higley

Profession/Occupation... I am the owner of KR Pet-N-Feed Supply. I also groom birds and raise African Grey parrots.

What I like most about the Westside is... the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to improve some of the older areas around here that are going downhill.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “The Lake House,” because I’m a sentimental sort of person. It’s a love story across time, a good “chick” flick.

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... “Stop being so generous.” It’s a good thing to be generous but not to a fault and I’m not sure if I fit in that “to a fault” category or not.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Clark Gable, because he was a suave and debonair man of his time.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Austria. What I’ve seen of it’s been through books, the National Geographic magazine and school. I think it’s a beautiful country and I have an intense desire to go there.

My favorite childhood memory is... Watching the movie, “Rose-Marie,” a story about a Canadian Mountie and opera singer. It was the first movie that I remember as a young child. The wolves in it and the song, “Indian Love Call” (a duet by Nelson Eddy and Jeannette MacDonald), left a strong impression on me.

My favorite fall pastime is... watching the colors change and the busy year come to a slow. It’s my favorite time of the year.

Something good I’ve read is.. all of Stephen King’s books. I have all of his books and had a chance to meet him in Palmer Lake when he was out here promoting one of his books.

My pet peeve is... people who think they can get away with everything.

If I won the lottery, I’d... pay off my business and give to a worthy charity.
