Author to lead talk and walk on Red Rock Canyon geology

       Paleontology researcher Sharon Milito will lead a Geology Talk and Walk Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the pavilion in Red Rock Canyon Open Space.
       The free event will start at 5:30 p.m., continue until 8 p.m. and “require some hiking,” a press release states.
       Milito co-authored the 2010 book (with Ken Weissenburger and Don Ellis) titled “Geologic Folio: Red Rock Canyon Open Space.”
       Light refreshments will be provided. Advance signups are requested at friends@redrockcanyonopenspace.org or 685-4792.
       Called a “talk and walk,” the event is the fourth in a series this summer hosted by the Friends of Red Rock Canyon.
