The EA's project description includes interchanges at 8th and 21st streets, six-lane at-grade intersections at 26th and 31st and an overpass at Ridge Road. Also in the plan are design changes for a separately planned Cimarron/I-25 interchange replacement. Other aspects include property acquisitions, noise walls, trail construction/ realignment, drainage mitigation and removal of neighborhood access to and from the highway at 14th Street and at Red Rock Canyon Open Space. The last public meeting was June 11. After the public comment period, CDOT will begin the process of seeking approval from the Federal Highway Administration, which would make the project formally eligible for funding.
