Gold Hill Mesa hosts Air Force Band concert to support children's hospital fundraising The Gold Hill Mesa ownership will show its support for a planned children's hospital in the Briargate area with a live concert Thursday, June 23.
The concert "will raise awareness and host sign-ups for the Climb for Courage,” explained Climb spokesperson Amy Triandiflou. That event will feature participants mounting 2,700 stairs inside the Air Force Academy football stadium June 25. “The Climb is the only public-facing event focused on raising money for Children's Colorado and its efforts to open the region's first comprehensive children's hospital, set to open in 2018,” Triandiflou added. At the Gold Hill Mesa concert, the Children's Hospital Foundation will have a booth for Climb for Courage signups. “Gold Hill Mesa will, in turn, have a booth at the Climb for Courage event as one of many sponsors for their family day,” she added. Gold Hill Mesa Vice President Stephanie Edwards pointed out that “families with young children are among Gold Hill Mesa's most growing populations. As a community supporter, Gold Hill Mesa is happy to have a presence at the Climb for Courage family day. The Children's Hospital will be a key pillar of Colorado Springs and provide services focused on kids' needs throughout Southern Colorado.” The Gold Hill Mesa concert will include “food vendors and fun family activities,” Edwards said.
