Old Town merchants add to festival offerings

       A number of Old Colorado City merchants will have special activities in conjunction with Territory Days May 29-31.
       Here is a list, based on those responding to a request for information from the Westside Pioneer:
        Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA - the merchants group that sponsors Territory Days) - a booth at 25th Street and West Colorado Avenue, selling festival T-shirts, mugs and posters.
       All That Glitters, 2518 W. Colorado Ave. - a display of rare gems, including a drawing for a free gem (Saturday, May 29 only).
       Everybody Loves Dinosaurs, 2616 W. Colorado - a giant T-rex and brontosaurus and two canopies with items for sale in the parking lot outside the store.
       K.M.J. Gifts, 2501 W. Colorado - sidewalk sale.
       Rocky Mountain Styles, 2501 W. Colorado - haircuts and face and hair painting outside (Saturday only).
       Colorado Smiles, 2431 W. Colorado - caricatures by owner Bill Crowley in front of the store.
        A Touch of Class Photo Gallery & Coffee Shop, 2513 ½ W. Colorado - live music (Ron Rougeau, acoustic guitar).
       Pine Creek Gallery, 2419 W. Colorado - sidewalk sale.
       Surplus City, 2732 W. Colorado - sidewalk sale.
       Latte Café, 2514 W. Colorado - serving food from a booth and in front of the restaurant.
        Barracuda Bazaar, 2502 W. Colorado - sidewalk sale.
       Pine Creek Art Gallery, 2419 W. Colorado - sidewalk sale.
       Old Colorado City Historical Society, 1 S. 24th St. - bake and plant sale in the historic Log Cabin at Bancroft Park.
       In other Territory Day-related activities…
       The Old Colorado City Library will present a “mountain man” (Adelino Valentin) to talk about life as a trapper (noon Saturday, May 29), and at 1 p.m. there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Fort Reading, a children's reading structure.
       Bookman, 3163 W. Colorado Ave., will be handing out free books to kids from its green bookmobile in the Yakitori parking lot (from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday).
