WHAT: 33rd annual Territory Days
WHERE: Old Colorado City. West Colorado Avenue will be closed from 23rd Street to 27th Street. WHEN: Saturday, May 24; Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 26. TIMES: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m Monday. COST: Free, except for fees at optional activities. ![]() SPECIAL EVENTS: Sunday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., Fellowship of Christian Cowboys Church Service, featuring the Colorado Cowboys for Jesus, in Bancroft Park. PARTICIPATORY ACTIVITIES:: (All continuous; varying costs - if any) Gaming Parlor south of Colorado on 25th Street. Beer Garden in Colbrunn Court. Margarita Cantina in the Old Town Plaza (25th & Colorado). Mechanical Bull in the 2300 block of Colorado Avenue. Gold Panning on 26th Street, south of Colorado. Territorial Jail in the 2300 block. Kids' rides in the 2300, 2400 and 2600 blocks. Climbing wall in the 2600 block. Pony rides in the 2300 block. Train rides for kids, starting at 24th and Colorado. Face-painting and balloon-twisting, various locations. Old Tyme Photos, at 25th & Colorado. SHOPPING: There will be more than 200 street vendors, offering a range of products, including clothes, art, toys, furniture and hand-crafted items. The majority of Old Colorado City shops will also be open. (variously - Springs Fitness Dance Company, Gypsation, and Salsa Y Mas). OTHER ENTERTAINMENT: Sunday, 11 a.m., Side Kickers Gold Rush Show (dancers) in Bancroft Park. Noon, Fast Draw competition (qualifying rounds) in Bancroft Park. 3 p.m., Fast Draw Finals in Bancroft Park. Varying times, all three days: Howell-Seven Falls Indian Dancers at 25th and Colorado. Gold Canyon Gun Fighters in Bancroft Park. Gunfighters of the Resurrection at Gaming Parlor. Hawkquest (birds of prey) in 2600 block. Ongoing: Blacksmiths from Rock Ledge Ranch in Bancroft Park. Actors from Red Herring Productions dressed in Old West apparel, putting on historical vignettes and interacting with the crowd. FOOD/DRINK: Wide varieties, from turkey legs to honey-roasted almonds, from chicken on a stick to funnelcakes. Various types of cold beverages, with alcohol sold and allowed only in the Beer Garden and Margarita Cantina. Most Old Colorado City restaurants/taverns will also be open for business. PARKING/SHUTTLE: Parking near Territory Days is limited. Visitors are encouraged to park at Coronado High School and take the free shuttle. See article on this page. SOUVENIRS: Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) booth at 25th Street and Colorado Avenue will sell festival T-shirts, caps, mugs and posters. HISTORY: Since 1975, the Old Colorado City Associates, a descendant of the El Paso Claim Club and West Colorado Springs Commercial Club, has hosted a festival in commemoration of Colorado City having been the first Territorial Capitol in 1862.
