Church adding dining hall
A project to build a dining hall has been under way in recent weeks on the grounds of the Saints Constantine & Helen Holy Theophany Orthodox Church at 2770 N.
Chestnut St.
According to Father Anthony Karbo, the schedule calls for completion by the end of July. “It will be a nice facility when it's done,” he said. Located just behind the domed sanctuary on the 1.75-acre property, the hall is designed in the same 12th century Byzantine style (though without domes). Its 3,220 square feet will also house an accessory kitchen area, restrooms and a small storage space, plans show, with an estimated capacity of 250. The hall will also be available for neighborhood rental, Karbo said. |
