Between May 18 and 26, close to 925 students in the 11 Westside public schools will mark milestones in their educational lives, moving
up from 5th, 8th and 12th grades.
The following lists dates, times and numbers of students being recognized at each school's celebration. (All these events except the two
high schools' graduation ceremonies will be at the schools themselves.)
K-8
Academy for Advanced & Creative Learning charter school (AACL), 2510 N. Chestnut St. According to Principal Nikki Myers,
AACL does not hold a fifth-grade promotion because under the school's format those students are in the same “division” with sixth-
graders and are also staying in the school.
AACL, whose longer school year ends June 2, will hold a “celebration ceremony” including recognition of eight eighth graders Friday,
June 3 at 6:30 p.m., Myers said.
