19th century spotlight for singer/storyteller at OCC History Center May 12

The show will begin at 11 a.m.
Using the stage name of “Major Pikes Pete,” Franzen is a retired music teacher who has researched songs from the past, particularly the 19th century. Asked about his program, he said he will use his own pre-recorded accompaniments to back up his singing and stories.
Admission is $5, but free to members of the Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS). The OCCHS is the volunteer organization that owns and operates the History Center.
The center also has a bookstore and museum. There is no charge to the public except during programs. Summer hours are back in effect, with the center open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, including how to become an OCCHS member, drop by the center or call when it's open at 636-1225.
