Beware of interchange-project traffic impacts (especially EB Cimarron) Several closures are scheduled for the two local I-25 interchange projects in the coming week, weather-dependent.Most are overnight, but eastbound Cimarron “is in a permanent reconfiguration,” according to a press release from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), with just one lane open for the time being east of I-25. Also at Cimarron, the old southbound on-ramp will be closed overnight April 25 to 29 for structural work. As reported in a separate Westside Pioneer article, there is a full closure of Fillmore Street over I-25 this weekend (until 5 a.m. Monday, April 25) A press release from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) also includes these advisories for the week ahead: - Cimarron/I-25 -April 25-26, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., eastbound right lane closed between Eighth Street and I-25. - Fillmore/I-25 - Apil 25-29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., all on-/off-ramps closed and “various east and westbound lane closures.” The Cimarron project is due for completion by the end of 2017. A June finish is planned for Fillmore. For more information on the Cimarron project, contact 302-6781 or e-mail dot_i-25cimarron@state.co.us.
