Behind-the-scenes look at NORAD in Old Colorado City History Center talk April 13 April 3, 2018The Old Colorado City History Center will offer a look behind the scenes at NORAD in a presentation Friday, April 13 at 11 a.m., Owned and run by the all-volunteer Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), the center is at 1 S. 24th St. “A Visit to the Inside of NORAD… Sharing its History” is the title of the talk by Former NORAD Space Defense Operations Director Roger Berg. According to a press release, he will use a slide presentation to provide a history of the Cheyenne Mountain national-defense complex and take the audience on a virtual tour inside. Admission is free to OCCHS members, $5 for nonmembers. Except during programs, admission to the History Center and its museum/bookstore is free. Winter hours are currently in effect - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, including how to become a member, call the center during its operating hours at 636-1225.
