If you see a man in a tan uniform and cap at Red Rock Canyon Open Space, chances are it's park ranger Mike Weeks. A Colorado Springs Parks employee since
1997, he started his assignment at Red Rock last November.
“I love it,” he said this week. “I'm working outdoors in a beautiful place, and I get to meet a lot of nice people.”
A Westside resident, he's previously been the summer ranger at the city's North Slope Reservoir area.
Weeks can be found at the park at different times, putting in fences, working on miscellaneous maintenance needs or talking to open space visitors.
