‘Look’ series returns at Garden of the Gods
The “Lunch & Look at the Garden” weekly series will return to the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center starting Tuesday, March 13.
The free presentations will continue on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. in the Red Rocks Room through May 22. The concept is for people to attend the talk, then have lunch (at their own expense) in the center's café, according to a press release from center volunteer Jeanne McElderry. The address is 1805 N. 30th St. Reservations are requested at 219-0108. There will be four speakers in all: PD firearm safety class A Colorado Springs Police Department class titled “Responsible Firearm Ownership” will be offered in the PD's Gold Hill Substation community room Thursday, March 15 at 6 p.m. Free and open to the public, the class will be presented by Sid Santos, the Gold Hill crime prevention officer. The substation is at 955 W. Moreno Ave. For more information, call 385-2117. Dispensary burglarized The Today's Health Care medical marijuana dispensary, 1635 W Uintah St., was burglarized March 5. Police were dispatched at about 2:30 a.m. “During the investigation it was determined that two disguised parties forced entrance into the business” and, “after ransacking the establishment, left with an undetermined amount of cash,” a police report states.
