Public invited to West Elementary's 'ABCD Night'

       West Elementary will hold its annual ABCD (Auction, Bingo, Chili and Dessert) Night Friday, Feb. 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event is free, except for the cost of a bowl of chili (50 cents). A dessert is also provided. The public is welcome.
       Earnings go to the school's parent-teacher organization (PTO), which uses it to help pay for field trips, according to Angel Chavez, a West teacher and organizer of the event.
       Attendees can make bids on several donated auction items (most of them from Westside businesses) and play bingo to win books.
       The entrance to West Elementary is at 25 N. 20th St.
