Accidental cause ruled for Jan. 26 fire that ravaged apartment house on South 18th A Jan. 26 apartment fire at 323 S. 18th St. resulted in two injuries and major damage to the five-unit apartment house.Fire investigators have ruled the blaze accidental. A firefighter was treated for a minor ankle injury and a civilian for burns, according to a press release. The release also estimates the overall loss at $238,519 in “property/content,” but also that $115,378 in property/content was saved. Firefighters were dispatched at 11:15 a.m. Fighting the blaze required 48 firefighters, eight fire engines, four fire trucks and four additional support apparatus, the release states.
